National Aquarium in Baltimore

Monday, March 31st, 2008

As sad as it might be, the concept of the aquarium is slowly beginning to die out. The original idea was to present a museum of aquatic wildlife that people could walk through and see creatures that they have never seen before. While that is always a fun concept, once you have been to one aquarium, you have seen just about every creature that all the other aquariums have. After a couple of aquariums, you have had enough to last you a lifetime and have no desire to ever see another. Fortunately, the city of Baltimore in the historic state of Maryland has foreseen this issue and taken steps to insure that every visitor will always want to come back to their own esteemed National Aquarium.

What defines a good vacation? Is it the attractions, such as the beaches and the restaurants? Is it perhaps the people and the way that they treat you, drawing you in instead of regarding you as a stranger in their personal territory? Could it be the atmosphere of the area, the feel of a new place where everything is different and exciting? Actually, it is an unusual mix all of this rolled into one tight package, and you generally have only one week to discover it. That’s not much time to get to know an area in the same way that those that have lived there all their lives know it. The scenic and lovely historic city of Boston, it seems, has managed to overcome this hurdle for its’ visitors and vacationers.
